December 2013 Woman of Wonderosity!

Here we go. The fate of the universe rests in this post. Well... not really, but wouldn't that be terrifying if it did? I don't know that I could ever be a true blue super hero. I don't even know how She-Ra does it. Trying to save people and save the universe from the tyranny of evil or the Horde just sounds daunting. I just barely found time to paint my toes. (Trust me, they looked really bad. It was like my feet were stand-ins for zombie feet on a new episode of the Walking Dead.) The universe would be screwed if I was responsible for wielding the power of Grayskull or the lasso of truth. About all I'm good for is taking some mediocre pictures and sharing the sad bit of crazy that roams around in my head like some decent cell reception. I enjoy it though. I know it might be a bit much for some people, but I have such a fun time doing these posts. Particularly this final post of 2013. I had long been planning it months ago and it has actually become a post that has taken root with some personal circumstances in my life. I hope you all enjoy.

Now it is time to find out the fate of toy Miss M and the wrestler Velvet Sky! Did Velvet Sky succeed in her attempts to destroy toy Miss M? Read on and find out!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Hey everyone, I just wanted to throw out some well wishes for a Merry Christmas to you all. This has obviously been a very surreal holiday this year for me. I am in the process of so many changes and I don't know what is going to happen from day to day, but I am just in awe over the wonderful friendships I am creating with all of you. I say friendships because I'm a southern girl that says "ya'll" and the word friend and acquaintance might as well be the same thing. (I realize that on many levels it is not, but I am just a very sweet person that enjoys talking to everyone.)

I have also been fortunate enough to receive lovely holiday cards from people. I am so honored that people thought to think of me. I also have received some surprise packages at my door that were totally unexpected. Beyond unexpected and I can't thank those people enough. (Trust me, once the madness of the holiday wears off, I will be writing about it all!)

Anyways, I just wanted to leave this quick note to you all. I hope that things are well wherever you all are. If I could, I'd have a huge festive holiday party with each and every one of you. As it stands, the work that I am doing to create a teleportation device is taking me, like, forever. So... yeah.

I also think you should stay tuned, because I have some fun things coming up! 2013 ain't over until the Dorkette says it's over! Find out if toy Miss M survives the sewer lair explosion. And will Velvet Sky get away with all her heinous crimes? Only one way to find out... For now, enjoy some of my most favorite Christmas images! (Spoiler alert, She-Ra is featured a lot.)

Merry Christmas!

December 2013 Bodacious Baddie 400 Extravaganza!

Here we are. The 400th post of Diary of a Dorkette! This is actually pretty funny as I was not planning the Bodacious Baddie to coincide with the actual 400th post, but sometimes things just have a way of working out. For those that are just tuning in, I interview toys. (There's actually a whole lot more to this blog, but one of its hallmarks is that I talk to toys.) Yes, they talk to me and I talk to them. It would stand to reason that I might need help, but I think I'm about as sane as it is gonna get around here. I started these interviews last year and expanded them in 2013. As a result I began to weave a little story as the toy version of myself interacted with all the heavy hitters from the larger toy world around us.

Here's what you need to know. Toy Miss M is best friends with April O'Neil. They work together bringing their journalistic integrity to folks every month with hard hitting toy journalism. April is older, wiser, and jaded. She was divorced from Casey Jones though they recently remarried on Halloween. Toy Miss M started a whirlwind romance with her favorite Ninja Turtle Michelangelo that spanned over two posts, here and here. Over 20 years of friendship has now led to a very loving and stable relationship, something the dorkette had never expected. Actually, there's a lot she never expected, like, actually dating a Ninja Turtle.

All is not what it seems though. Full of rage and hate for being made fun of in an old post, the wrestler Velvet Sky has slowly been plotting the downfall of Miss M. Having worked with the greatest villains in the universe, Velvet Sky has tried unsuccessfully to destroy Miss M. In fact, for a brief moment, Miss M even knew about Velvet Sky's dastardly evil machinations, but after suffering a blow to the head, Miss M does not realize the danger around her. Now, in cahoots with Hordak, Velvet Sky has devised the ultimate plan. Instead of just going after Miss M, Velvet Sky wants to destroy those most close to the dorkette. (And in some cases has actually succeeded) Enough back story though! Find out what happens next in this spectacularly tacky 400th Diary of a Dorkette post with the all new December 2013 Bodacious Baddie!

Miss M Presents: Christmas Wishes and Toy Dreams!

Dear Diary,

The holiday season is in full gear. People have forgotten how to drive and the roads are dangerous. Folks are fighting over items marked so high they might as well be living with the Care Bears. But, all is good. I'm in a very stable relationship with a Ninja Turtle and we are going to go shopping for Christmas gifts for our loved ones. I couldn't be happier. This is going to be the greatest Christmas ever!

I have enclosed a jewel that helps protect you.

December 2013 Heroic Hottie!

Dear Diary,

The year is coming to an end. I personally can't believe another year is going by. The year has been pretty thrilling with so many great toy interviews. I've had the great luck of getting to interview some of the best. Of course, then there were three in 2013. Who will they be? Who will get the dubious distinction of being featured in the top three interview spots for the end of the year? Well dear diary, I'm not sayin squat. It will just have to be a glorious surprise. Anyways, I am off. I need to check into the office. April has been hiding out since Thanksgiving. Apparently someone got mad that she knocked over a vat of fried turkey juice drippings on the ground. Supposedly the drippings melded with some radioactive residue from the sewer and has created these really creepy rats that gobble, not to mention some breed of super roach that can withstand freezing temperatures. Eh. Tis the season.

7 is a Magic Number. Right?

I mean, I personally believe magic is whatever you make of it. So... I'm doing something I wasn't planning on doing, but I thought it would be fun. So click below and see what's the dish.
